Osseous Surgery

Periodontal disease often results in the formation of deep pockets under the gum which can be difficult if not impossible for you, or the hygienist, to clean. If this situation develops, the bacteria grow out of control and periodontal disease will progress leading to the eventual loss of teeth and other possible health risks. Osseous surgery can help to control the progression of gum disease because it reduces the depth of the pockets so that they can be cleaned to remove bacterial growth. Your ability to keep your teeth clean on a daily basis is the foundation for controlling periodontal disease and keeping your mouth healthy.
